Apple Falls Short, Again

Apples new laptop fell well short of making a serious dent on competing PCs. Yes, Steve Jobs lowered the price of the lowest cost laptop by $100 to $1000. He also added new performance with NVidia chips on some laptops and multi-touch pads were extended to all Apple laptop models. But the fundamental problem is that Apple laptops cost double the price of comparable PCs. And often dont even make comparable grade with smaller hard disks, slower CPUs, and less memory. So yet again, Apple fumbles a chance to be a major player on the desktop. I suspect that when Microsoft delivers multi-touch NUI, Surfaces, to Windows 7/Vista as planned – Apple will fade from the PC laptop and desktop scene.
